British band SUEDE to play in Bucharest for the first time!

concert

Britpop band SUEDE will throw a concert in Romania on June 4, at the Arenele Romane in capital city Bucharest, according to One Event, which organizes the concert. The concert in Bucharest is part of a series which marks the reunion of the band, that split up in 2003, but got back together especially for this series of concerts.

SUEDE is an English alternative rock band, formed in London in 1989, that received a Golden Disk as well as the Mercury prize. The group’s most prominent early line-up featured singer Brett Anderson, guitarist Bernard Butler, bass player Mat Osman and drummer Simon Gilbert.
Hits as “Animal Nitrate”, “The Wild Ones”, “Trash”, “Saturday Night”, “She’s In Fashion” or “Lazy” will echo from the stage set in Arenele Romane on June 4. Considered as one of the most influential British bands of the 1990s, together with Blur, Oasis and Pulp, SUEDE disbanded in 2003, to reunite last year.
At the time the band parted ways, they had released five studio albums, three compilations, three DVDs and 21 singles throughout a 14-year career. After leaving SUEDE, lead singer Brett Anderson formed The Tears with band mate Bernard Butler and after that, he started a solo career. Anderson played in Bucharest before, in 2007, at the opening of the Muse concert, also performing SUEDE songs, as “Beautiful Ones” or “Everything Will Flow”.
SUEDE’s self-titled first album, in 1993, was referred to, by the specialized media of the times, as “the most expected debut album since The Sex Pistols’ “Never Mind the Bollocks”. The album received a gold record one week after being launched, surpassing Depeche Mode.
This year, a re-mastered version of the SUEDE discography will be released, which will include bonus tracks and some improvements.

Tickets for the Bucharest concert are available in the Eventim network, in Germanos, Orange, Vodafone, Domo stores and in the Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops. Ticket prices will be of RON 100, 130, 150 until April 17 and RON 130, 160 and 180 from April 18 until June 4.
